The Bristol-Myers Squibb Benefits Program gives you the flexibility and opportunity to choose from a variety of options.

The benefit choices you make go into effect each January 1 (or on your date of eligibility, if later), and stay in effect through December 31, as long as you remain eligible for benefits.

To evaluate your health care choices and to model the best medical plan value based on anticipated expenses, use the Health Benefits Decision Tool available through mybenefits.bms.com

To enroll, update dependent information, or find detailed benefit summaries and information, log on to mybenefits.bms.com

Know Your Deadline

If you are an active BMS employee

If you are newly eligible for BMS benefits (new hire)

You have an opportunity to enroll in, make changes to, or decline benefit coverage during Annual Enrollment. If you do not make a change by the Annual Enrollment deadline, you will receive the following default coverage:

  • Your current election for medical, dental, vision, legal services coverage, and identity theft protection for yourself and enrolled dependents
  • Your current life insurance elections
  • If you have a Health Care or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA), or a Health Savings Account (HSA), your contribution amount will be set to $0.00

You must choose or decline coverage within 31 days of the first day you become eligible for benefits. If you miss this enrollment deadline, you will be automatically enrolled in the following default coverage:

  • Employee only medical coverage in the Aetna Consumer Choice Plan
  • Life insurance coverage of one times pay at smoker rates
  • No employee or family dental or vision coverage
  • No participation in the Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) or Health Savings Account (HSA)
  • No legal services or identity theft protection coverage

Deadline to update your benefit choices:
Close of the Annual Enrollment period

When decisions take effect:
Your coverage will be in effect throughout the following calendar year.

Deadline to enroll as a new hire:
The 31st day following the date you first become eligible for benefits.

When decisions take effect:
Your coverage will be in effect as of your date of hire and remains in effect for the duration of the calendar year.
